The rabbis teach that the entire world stands on three things: on learning, on service and on habitual caring action towards others. What are these three things? How do they work together to prop up the whole world and, if not done, send the world into a state of chaos? On this holiest day of the year, we will consider the themes of Yom Kippur day along these three foundational invitations for how to engage in the world and in our communities. Where have we come up short in these areas in the last year? How might we make deeper commitments in one or more of these areas in the year ahead? Through a combination of voices from Jewish tradition and the voices in the room, we will lean into this holy day learning in community.

After, join us for bagels and shmear with friends – whether it is your custom to fast or not – join us for a meal as the ten days of awe end. Share some intentions for the year ahead and meet other people wanting to share this special and sacred time with others.
