“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” – Aldous Huxley
All music is Midrash.
Words and notes are black fire on white fire pages.
For over twenty years, Ami’s lived experience and subsequent music have woven in and out of the trials and triumphs of identity as it relates to Jewish culture, peacebuilding with Israelis and Palestinians, and broader challenges facing our humanity in this day and age. As a songwriter, Ami can only hope that, in some way, shape, or form, his music reaches you and offers familiar and new spaces to think, feel, and be inspired.
For one evening, join Ami on a journey through music that will touch on themes of blessings, affirmation, critical inquiry, hurt, healing and mosty importantly, an infusion of the hope that is so sorely needed today.
Ami Yares is the still small voice, picking and singing across the room, bearing his soul to make it sound for you to do the same. Singing songs of pain, perseverance and hope, Ami’s music journeys in and out of the human soul, searching for meaning amid the world’s worries and wonder. Working with Palestinians, Israelis, Jews, Christians, Muslims, refugees and more, Ami’s career spans twenty years of living and learning along peacebuilders yearning and working towards just peace, traversing continents and countries.
