Details

Breaking bread together is a powerful way to get to know someone, learn others’ stories, and build community. Enjoy a meal and conversation with old and new friends about what brings joy and gratitude into your life, how you honor your ancestors, the ways you navigate the journey of being human, and how we can center the core truths that guide us from within. At this dinner, we will be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy.

Third Space is excited to host this meal in partnership with Dazia Wallerson from Baltimore Unity Suppers by Leap Forward and Kohenet Dr. Harriette Wimms of the Jews Of Color Mishpacha Project

Baltimore Unity Suppers is a joint project of the Jews of Color Mishpacha Project and Leap Forward and housed at Third Space. Baltimore Unity Suppers are built on the simple hypothesis that when people break bread together it’s hard to continue to hate one another. Each instance of the Baltimore Unity Suppers is a little different, focusing on specific themes relevant to the season and the moment. Come meet new friends who look, speak, or pray differently than you do. Figure out what you have in common and learn more about what you don’t.

Fabulously Answered Questions (FAQs):

What happens at Baltimore Unity Suppers?

At its simplest, what happens is dinner and conversation. The conversation is often guided by discussion questions or other moderating activities that might include artmaking, storytelling, or other shared activities.

Who is invited to Baltimore Unity Suppers?

Everyone! If you are open to meeting new people and hearing different perspectives with curiosity rather than judgement, we would like to have you here.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! Everyone is welcome from our youngest community members to our elders. The intergenerational elements of Baltimore Unity Suppers create some of the most generative and meaningful interactions.

Will the food be vegan/gluten free/kosher?

We always order vegetarian and/or vegan food for Baltimore Unity Suppers. We regularly accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and kosher-certified needs. There is a spot on your registration form where you can let us know what you need, and we will be happy to provide!
